CASE STUDY II: COMPREHENSIVE COSTS DATABASE DEVELOPMENT
Problem:
CRO was working on a project for a pharma client who wanted to model the increasing health utilization costs over the last 12 months of life in a cohort of patients. CRO assembled the cohort and could track their procedures and drugs, etc., but the data provider did not want to share costs since they were part of their trade secret/competitive practice. CRO needed to build a ‘crosswalk’ to match these procedures to costs.

Using commercially available medical and pharmacy claims databases, we built a comprehensive and standardized costs database for HCPC / CPT codes
